The ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe Electric Guitar is a speed machine, with the tone and feel of a custom-shop thrasher. When you pick up your new EC-1000 Electric Guitar you will notice it is the impeccable action.Your strings can only go as low as your highest fret, so ESP takes great care in seating the frets, making sure there are no speed bumps on the riffage expressway.

The neck profile is awesome too; not so chunky that it’ll slow you down, but still substantial enough that switching between single-note arpeggios and meaty power chords feels natural and comfortable. The set neck joint is solid, but won’t get in the way of upper register soling, even when you’re wailing on the 24th fret.

A Tonepros locking bridge with stop tailpiece has individually tunable saddles, as well as an adjustable overall height, so you’ll be able to dial in the exact action that suits your playing style. The stable neck joint, Tonepros bridge, and mahogany body construction all contribute to this guitar’s awesome sustain and sound, which is given electrified voice by a set of active EMG 81 humbuckers. While the EMG 81s are capable of a wide array of styles, they excel at high-gain, modern heavy metal. The increased output of the EMGs can push an amplifier’s input gain into the red for scorching tone you’ve never heard before, while the active circuitry keeps everything whisper quiet when you’re not playing. Get ready for tone that’s dramatic, epic, and totally metal.

The EC-1000 Guitar features EMG 81 pickups, set-neck design, Mahogany body and neck, a Rosewood fingerboard, ESP’s excellent TonePros System II locking bridge, and 24 extra jumbo frets. TonePros System II locking bridge delivers long-lasting sustain.

ESP outfits the LTD EC1000 with the Earvana Compensated Tuning System. Ever wonder why it’s so hard to get your guitar to play in tune, or why strings that are in tune with each other high up on the neck sound sour in lower registers? It’s because the simplistic nut construction on most guitars doesn’t account for small the small, non-linear intonation inaccuracies inherent in all guitars. The EC1000’s Earvana nut is precision-sculpted and compensates for each string differently, taking into account the natural physics of string behavior to eliminate nearly all tuning problems. You’ll be amazed at the new life your open chords, droned strings, and triple-stop voicings have on an Earvana-equipped EC1000. This advanced tuning system is complemented by a set of Sperzel locking tuning machines, so that once you get your axe up to pitch, it’ll stay that way though the most intense playing.

EC-1000 Electric Guitar Technical Information

Construction: Set neck

Body: Mahogany (Maple top on all colors but Black and Vintage Black)

Neck: 3-piece Mahogany

Scale: 24.75 in.

Fingerboard: Rosewood

Controls: 2 volume & 1 tone w/3-way toggle

Inlays: Flags with model name at 12th fret

Nut: Earvana compensated

Tuners: Sperzel locking

Bridge: Tonepros locking bridge w/stop tailpiece

The body design of EC-1000 Electric guitar’s is both classic and forward-thinking, with a single-cut profile, beveled carved top, and full neck and body binding. With lots of finish options, you’ll be sure to find the EC1000 that’s exactly your style. The “See Thru” options feature a wickedly figured maple top, the translucent finish and stain highlighting the breathtaking “quilted” grain. The solid colors are no joke, either, with the white and black finishes gleaming like precious stones, and the Vintage Black option evincing the classic attitude of Metal’s forebears.

There are several guitars on the market and the way you choose depends largely on what kind of music you intend to play. They must also physically comfortable with your guitar and, of course, will be on your size. The weight of the guitar is important, especially if you like to play the instrument quite regularly to ensure that you do not choose one that is too heavy for you, because this will only weigh you down.

The look and the sound of the guitar have an appeal to you. There are so many shapes, colors and surfaces and all guitars a slightly different sound, the best quality is usually the most expensive.

After all these factors into consideration your choice of guitar remains with the kind of music you play. For example, if you are in classical music a guitar with intestinal or nylon strings is ideal. The back and sides should, rosewood with either cedar or spruce for the top. It is quite similar to the kind of flamenco guitar for the game, but the flamenco guitar is thinner, and the body is more shallow and from cypress with cedar at the top.

The classical guitar with the hollow body and nylon strings and the electric steel guitar with its solid wood body and neck and bolted to steel strings, such as the Fender Stratocaster are probably the two most popular types of guitar whole. Within these two types of guitars, there are many variations, semi-acoustic and semi-solid as an example for them. The next most popular is the bass guitar, but find when buying your first guitar, that the main options open, you will find the choice between acoustic and electric models.

If you have not played before then you should really consider an acoustic guitar. It is easier to play, and you do not need anything else to get started, except in the case, a lanyard, some picks and, of course, your notes all reasonably priced. If you choose an electric guitar, you need an amplifier and at least one field effects. This increases the price considerably and also makes the choice even more difficult for you.

Although you do not need to pay a fortune for your first guitar, you should not for a cheap and nasty model on the basis that you do not know whether or not, the game after the initial interest. If you go for one which looks dreadful and feels and sounds even worse, you will probably put it to one side before long, not wanting to play it at all. Ask your friends to play guitar, and friends of friends, if you can go with their instruments to the feeling of things before paying a visit to the music shops. If you are here there is no need for you to buy a top brand, as it is of great detriment guitars on the market without well-known brand names.

Verify that your guitar is well made by your fingers at the seams of the instrument. If any part of the guitar feels rough, then this is one guitar to avoid. Make sure that the frets and that even the top is not made of plywood. Above all, do not dash out and buy off the first guitar you try – it’s really not necessary since you can be sure with a little patience you can find one that’s out there, just waiting for you.

An electric guitar speaker is a loudspeaker specifically the driver (transducer) part designed for use in or with the guitar amplifier of an electric guitar. Installed in a cabinet with amplification and possibly multiple speakers. Typically these drivers produce only the frequency range relevant to guitars which is similar to a regular woofer type driver which is approximately 75Hz to 5kHz.

The range of sounds in terms of Hz which include the highs, middle range and low level sounds in a guitar speaker have a narrow range of sound compared to a stereo speaker. The two types of speakers are like comparing apples and oranges. In other words, their range and type of sound as well as the intended purposes are different and not interchangeable.

The cones of these drivers typically range in size from 6.5in to 15in with 10 and 12in models being the most popular. As with all loudspeaker drivers, the magnets are usually made from Alnico, ceramic, or neodymium with higher quality Alnico magnets reserved for expensive models.

Well-known guitar speaker manufacturers include Fane, Jensen, Celestion, Eminence, Electro-Voice, JBL, Weber, and A Brown Sound (Tone Tubby).

The sounds that are considered to be vintage blues vibes can be duplicated by certain brands and types of speakers. Other music genres such as metal or jazz can be duplicated with the appropriate speaker for intended music type. Taking into consideration that speakers have subtle differences that not everyone can hear. It takes a veteran musician or someone with excellent or trained hearing to hear some of the differences. In the end if you get the chance to replace a speaker/s, find the one that suits your style.

Searching the internet will provide many types and brands of speakers to examine, understanding that all brands and types of speakers have their own particular sounds. Know what you want, so a mistake won’t be made.
Take advantage of the tremendous online technology available, and find sites that have audio demonstrations of the different sounds of different speakers, or, call the company and talk to an engineer in tech.

Changing an undamaged speaker is generally considered a waste of time, it is the last thing to replace in your rig to change your tone. That being said, if your speaker wears out(Ha) or you simply blow it into outer space (most likely cause) take the time and effort to get the speaker that suits your sound and tone preferences best.

Name some of the best strategies to learn how to play with other people. Well I got a few up my sleeve. The sooner you put your skills into use the better. At least in the direction you want to go. Bands form everyday, new drummers develop their skills. Bass players develop their chops and get involved also. Never a shortage of people to play with. No matter what level you play at.

To be a one man band, such as the great Ben Pestage, you only need yourself, equipment, a car and a designated driver. Ben is a local favorite, he is going to make it big soon. He is that good. You can see Ben and learn more about him in My Space. Ben’s style is good old fashioned finger-pick-in’blues. Finger pickers use the low E and A strings as the bass line. When you use your fingers to pick the top four strings you get your lead going, all at once. It’s called Travis picking.

No strategy necessary here. Book a gig and show up. The only person to blame if the drummer doesn’t show is…uh..yourself…. or Ben in this case. No musical politics either! Pretty inviting.

Realistically speaking, Not every one wants to be like Ben or has the talent either. The rest of us need to know what strategies you can when you jam or gig. There are several ways to go. If you disagree with any of these strategies, I urge you to share yours. Other people have formulated good strategic methods of jamming too.

Make sure the person leading or hosting the Jam is knowledgeable. Their should be someone who has a good idea of dealing with new players and their fears of playing with other musicians.

Have a list of a few, maybe two to four easy songs, especially for a Beginner guitar players jam session. I may repeat a couple of paradigms periodically, because they are important. Some things will overlap, however, it should go without saying that maybe strategies mentioned twice are twice as important.

Learn what Guitar tablature, tabs, tab is, and how to read it. There is plenty of solid information about learning an easy method to read music, even at an elementary level.

Put a few Guitar chords under your belt. Make a commitment to learn the mandatory chords recommended for everyone. Yo gotta know a few chords or you will really get frustrated. Play them over and over. To have fun and amuse yourself, try learning how to play the twelve bar blues structure.
It’s the easiest way I know of to learn some elementary tunes.

Take turns with the other guitarists. Don’t be a stage hog like me. Depending on how many guitar players show up, take a break every twenty minutes and give another axe man or drummer or bass player a chance to show his wares. Be courteous to everyone who shows, anyone with the nerve to show deserves to play and be supported by all the members. Even if you think you stink.

Note: It’s a natural Phenom to think you stink. You are probably better than you give yourself credit for. It is also why we strive to get better as guitarists. Humans are competitive with each other and themselves.

Use some of the online tools and lessons when you are practicing at home. The metronome and tuner are your best friends. See if you can’t beat or wear out a metronome. Good Luck!

Most important. Have fun and enjoy. Let other people help you. Never quit, you will become a regular jam member and keep improving as a player by continuing to jam. It’s a tried and true method to Jam. Someday new people will show that you can help. I guarantee!

Learning to play classical guitar is a bit different. Classical guitar teachers have recitals. Usually, every month the teacher hosts or maybe a student hosts a recital. Everyone learns a piece of music and gets on stage and plays it. It’s fun and important to play for people. But it is not like Jamming with a bass player and drummer. Needless to say, it’s like comparing apples and oranges in terms of playing styles.

That’s the strategy many guitarists use. We are all in the developmental mode, always! Start to Jam and watch/hear for yourself and grow.

When you have come to a decision to buy a guitar, although you may have a thought of just what sort you want, it pays to have a close look at the options the guitar store has to offer. Obviously you will be haggard by looks at first, but you actually should pick it up and see how it feels when you are holding it and give it a strum to ensure out how it sounds.

You may feel a little frightened playing the guitar in the store, but it is necessary to try before you put your money into it. By having a play with it, you will recognize its exact quality which you are looking for. If it is an electric guitar you are after, make sure it is associated to the same kind or amplifier that you intend to use, as if not, this can make is sound totally different.

Start by strumming the open strings quite hard so that you can hear its sound clearly. Snoop closely for any strings making a vibrant sound and make sure when you play each fret on the neck that there are no fret buzzes. Ask if you can play the guitar in a calm space within the store if there is a lot of cacophonous going on around you and you cannot hear the sound appropriately. If the sales staff in the shop does not welcome your intention of trying out the guitar, then you should think sincerely about buying from that particular store and can transfer your business to another store where you can listen to the guitar suitably before making a buy.

It is always better to make a written note of the guitars you have tried so far. Through this approach you are less likely to get tangled up about which one was which. Write down the model, expenditure incurred and what it looks like and this will make things easier, if you are not buying on the day, but going home to have a think about it. It is necessary to pay out as much time as you need in the store looking and trying out a range of guitars for sale, before making a last decision. Never let the staff of the store, or anyone else for that matter, push you into making a quick option.

Look into the online music directory to get the information on beneficial offers that may help you to choose the best guitar applicable for your needs.

If you are a beginner guitar player, you will naturally to be apprehensive about what type of guitar should you buy and the cost of buying one. Yes, there are many things to ponder over when you are deciding to buy a good beginner’s guitar. Here are some pointers that should give you some ideas for choosing which guitar to purchase.

Buying the right guitar may not be an easy choice for you. It can be so frustrating and exasperating that sometimes you will just feel like buying the next guitar you see just so that you can stop your search once and for all. Worse if you the easily frustrated type, you may even feel like giving up the idea of learning how to play the guitar altogether.

Every person will have a different set of criteria when choosing a good guitar. However, chances are that you may not always be able to satisfy all of them at once. Just have a little patience and look around as much as you can so that will not regret later that you have bought a wrong guitar. Don’t just buy the first guitar you see, visit as many guitar stores as you can just to get an idea of what is on offer.

You probably will have friends who are experienced guitarists, so go and ask them for advice on how to choose a guitar for a beginner like you. Someone who has been playing the guitar for sometime will be able to show you where to choose the best guitars for the best price. Better yet, ask them if they are willing to accompany you to check out the guitars.

Beginner guitar players are often offered package deals in most guitar stores. These deals will often include a free guitar strap, case, tuner and sometimes even free lessons. This would be a good choice for a beginner because everything you need to learn how to play the guitar is packaged together.

If you aspire to be a proficient guitarist, buying a guitar not suitable for you would not only get you shortchanged but it might also disillusion you and dampens your enthusiasm. For this reason, it is always recommended that buy your guitar from reputed brands such as Yamaha, Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, Ovation and Martin just to list a few of them.

You don’t have to get embarrassed when trying out and testing the guitar at the shop since you will be the one who is paying for the guitar. When inspecting a guitar, lookout for sloppy gluing and also make sure that the guitar has a good solid top.

Play the guitar as loudly as you want to because this is the best way of listening to its tonal quality. Play on every fret on the guitar neck to make sure that there are no fret buzzes. Also never pay the listed price for a guitar, so do some hard bargaining with the sales staff and you may get a handsome discount.

If buying a brand new guitar is out of your tight budget, you may wish to consider getting a good quality second hand guitar. This is also an option especially so if your enthusiasm on being a guitarist is just a passing fad.

Every good guitarist will want to take care of their guitar in order to keep it in the best condition. A large part of caring for your guitar is by cleaning it on a regular basis. And as a guitarist, it is your solemn duty to ensure that your guitar it maintained to the best of conditions, in order for it to deliver a quality sound. No matter whether you are a professional guitarist or a beginner, it is essential to undertake the care and maintenance of your guitar.

Your guitar will become dirty with sweat and dust just by playing it. Using a soft cloth is the best way to clean it. Special cloths can be purchased in music stores, or you can simply use an old t-shirt, providing that it is 100% cotton. It is imperative however, that if the t-shirt contains a logo, you firstly remove it, as this can cause damage by scratching the surface of your guitar.

If the surface of your guitar is French polished or lacquered, then cleaning items such as paper towels must be avoided at all times, as these will also cause scratches. If you feel that it is necessary to clean your guitar with paper towels, then it is advised to purchase non-woven shop towels which are available on a roll. These do cost a little more, but they will not scratch your guitar.

You will find that dust accumulates under the strings. Therefore particular attention should be paid to this area of your guitar. Do not be hesitant in inserting a cloth behind the strings and giving it a good rub, at the same time as you are wiping the entire body of your guitar. If you pay close attention to cleaning the strings of your guitar, then their life will be extended. In addition to a normal cleaning routine, it is advised that after every jam session with your guitar, you give the strings a good wipe by holding them firmly through a cloth and rubbing the cloth up and down their length. This will remove any dust, grease from your fingers, perspiration build-up, and skin cells etc.

If you find that you are having difficulty in removing finger prints on your guitar, then you can blow a gentle breath, just as you would with spectacles, to create a little moisture. You will then find that by rubbing your guitar vigorously that the finger prints will be removed. It is also possible to use a slightly moistened soft cloth and a small amount of mild detergent. However, do not overdo it. It is essential that you avoid at all times, getting moisture into the small spaces on the guitar surface. However you choose to remove finger prints from your guitar, it is advised to rub it well afterwards with a soft dry cloth. It is also recommended to change to a clean cloth on a regular basis, to avoid rubbing the dirt from an old cloth back on to the guitar.

There are also various types of commercial guitar cleaners available to purchase, most of which are good products. When purchasing such products, it is essential that you primarily read all instructions on the bottle carefully, and use a water-based product for water-soluble dirt. There are creamy polishes available on the market, but they do have a tendency to be slightly abrasive. Therefore, if your guitar has a matte finish, then it is recommended not to use a cream product.

If your guitar should have a sticky residue from tape or stickers on it, then this will need to be removed by using mineral spirits. It is also possible to use lighter fluid, which is otherwise known as naphtha. Neither of these products will cause any harm to the finish of your guitar. However, you will need to remove the solvent with a damp cloth to buff your guitar clean after removing tape or stickers. Ensure that you are careful when cleaning sticky residue off your guitar, as you do not want to spread it around the rest of the guitar.

The fingerboard of a guitar, along with the strings and the fret wire are subject to acidity in the player’s hands. Therefore it is advised to completely remove the strings and rub up and down the fingerboard with a piece of extra fine grade steel wool. When rubbing the frets, it is essential that you take care not to catch the ends of them with the steel wool. The steel wool does not need to be wet before undertaking this process. It is after a few motions that the frets should be shiny. Obviously this depends on how dirty the fingerboard initially is. If the surface of the fingerboard is not cracked or damaged, then you can apply a little lemon oil to prevent the wood from cracking, which is caused by temperature and humidity.

Practice the scales slowly, get familiar with all the root notes. Learn the names and positions of the notes all over the guitar neck. Then make sure you practice each scale across the neck so you really know every part , position and box of that scale. Try to be dynamic learn the notes of the scales on every string, know runs on two strings up and down and learn to play diagonally across the neck down and back.

Neck diagrams are used for showing how scales and chords “lay out” across the fingerboard. Understand and use guitar scales read guitar tablature and standard notation build and play hundreds of guitar-chords develop speed and coordination skills play a variety of guitar styles and more. Keep in mind the simple fundamentals that reinforce how important the basics of position and understanding the scale patterns are to your playing ability.

Remember it’s what you know in your head and the way you play is far more important than how many chords or scales you know or how fast you can play etc. Perhaps you question whether to learn guitar tabs, guitar scales, and guitar music theory before playing your favorite guitar songs. Well practice it all just break it down into manageable segments.

Once you have mastered playing each scale from top to bottom, try playing it backwards by starting on the last note of the scale and playing in reverse order back to the first note. Although playing and practicing scales can often be a tiresome and relatively unexciting process. You can make it much more fun and dynamic by practicing scale patterns and run formations. Once you get reasonably good at it (doesn’t take long) you can go further by learning how to use the scales and all chords come from. Also learning how scales and modes interact with chords and chord progressions is a definite must.

There are no short cuts. But basically it needs hard work and effort. Like anything you intend you’re going to stick at it when you first start out, but you have to be careful this does not fade. Even if you’re Jimi Hendrix with natural ability, you are going to have a hard time when you try to learn guitar but you absolutely have to stay with it.

Although sight is a great way to learn, when trying to learn guitar material you can’t get very far without being able to hear the guitar pieces being strummed or picked so you can compare yourself to a professional. Maybe you have thought should you learn guitar set pieces, guitar scales, and guitar music theory before playing your favourite guitar songs. Well it is all good practice. When choosing guitar pieces to learn, it is important to consider the song itself, someone with little to no previous guitar skills may not be able to play a heavy rock guitar solo, county style picking, or fast paced Spanish music. Keeping to one’s skill level will help playing ability as well as technique; how easy to learn guitar tab are depends on the tab itself and the person’s personal abilities.

Special software makes it easy to learn guitar chords, while DVDs guide you step-by-step through every aspect of guitar playing, communicating the concepts to you in a way that no diagram could ever achieve, and using many different camera angles to make sure you don’t miss anything. While most guitar methods focus on theory and technical skills, a good guitar DVD shows you how to put theory into practice.
